YLE-prize

The Classical Music Department of the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle) seeks to encourage promising Finnish musicians/singers by awarding an Yle Prize. The Prize is an invitation to make a recording for Yle and it is awarded to the most successful Finnish competitor. The winner of the Yle Prize at this competition is baritone Aarne Pelkonen.

Sibelius family-prize

Sibelius family gives the special prize: the parts including solo songs in Jean Sibelius Works-critical edition for a competitor chosen by the jury, for the best non-finnish interpretation. The prize goes to mezzo-sopran Tuuri Dede.

Special Prizes

The winner, Aarne Pelkonen , will be invited to appear with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2015/2016 season.

A special prize, a Lied recital at the Lahti Sibelius Festival on September 6, 2015, was awarded to
Erica Back.
